Indiana Chamber Selects Bluefish Wireless as One of Indiana’s Best Places To Work

INDIANAPOIS (Feb. 23, 2012) – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announces a total of 70 companies have been designated a 2012 “Best Place to Work in Indiana,” including Bluefish Wireless, for creating a productive environment in which employees feel valued. This is the seventh year for the Best Places to Work in Indiana program, which is presented by Comcast Business Class. Bluefish Wireless was selected as a top small- to medium-sized company. Actual rankings for the companies will be unveiled at a May 3 awards dinner at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis.

Bluefish Wireless, based in Indianapolis, currently has 71 total employees – 69 of which are full-time. This is the first win for Bluefish and the first year the company submitted a nomination.

“It’s a privilege to be part of such a great list of Indiana companies,” said Scott Kraege, director at Bluefish Wireless. “We value our employees and always recognize their hard work and accomplishments. Our goal is so continue to provide a work-friendly environment so that Bluefish can expand here locally while also building a national brand in the mobile, wireless and IT industry.”

The top companies in the state are determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from two categories: small- to medium-sized companies with 15 to 249 U.S. employees and large-sized companies with 250 or more employees nationwide. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana.

All companies that participated in the 2012 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.

The Best Companies Group, which handled the selection process, oversees similar programs in 21 other states.

“Best Places to Work in Indiana not only recognizes our state’s outstanding employers, but also sets a high standard for other Hoosier companies by encouraging them to realize the importance of evaluating their own workplace,” said Kevin Brinegar, Indiana Chamber President. “It is clear that a positive work environment makes employees more engaged in their job and in their company, which is a win for the entire business community.”

In addition to the May 3 awards dinner, winners will be recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s bimonthly BizVoice® magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. The 2012 Best Places to Work in Indiana awards dinner is open to the public. Individual tickets and tables are available at http://www.indianachamber.com/specialevents.
