I promise, he won’t answer the phone.

We are avid fans of movies such as The Matrix, Terminator and Wall-E.  If these movies have taught us anything it’s that robots will eventually rise-up and conquer planet Earth.  Although resistance will be mounted, I predict their sheer numbers will eventually overwhelm humanity.

We at Bluefish have always been forward-thinking in terms of mobile telecom management.  Our industry-leading technology platform has been the benefit of this exact mentality.  Now, we are taking that same technology experience and preparing for the coming robot rising.  We are pleased to announce that Bluefish has purchased our first robot from VGo Communications, affectionately named E.R.I.C. S.E.N.D.L.E.B.O.T after one of our first employees or just “SENDLEBOT” for short.

You’re probably wondering why we bought a robot. Well, our development group is headquartered in our Indianapolis office, but over time we’ve had developers who have moved to other states (through various circumstances) and wanted to stay with the company.  Their industry knowledge and technical contribution to the company is extremely valuable and we too wanted them to stay.  Fortunately, their job function can easily accommodate working remotely.

One downside of working remotely is missing out on informal communication that happens in any organization.  Our challenge was to make sure these developers do not fall into the “out of sight out of mind” category and SENDLEBOT has done just that.  It allows a remote developer to login and take control.  Using the Bluefish Wifi network the developer can see and be seen as the robot is navigated throughout the 30,000 square feet of our headquarters.  This allows the developer to go to meetings, “pop-in” to various employees offices and participate in the day-to-day activities of the company.  SENDLEBOT has been a tremendous success with our remote developers getting more engaged.  We are asking that all Indianapolis developers actually walk around and not treat SENDLEBOT like Rosie from the Jetsons.  SENDLEBOT has even allowed customers and potential customers to login and do a virtual tour of our facilities to see our help desk, IT and logistics in action.

Even more important than productivity, we are banking that our early embrace of robot technology will be looked upon favorably by our eventual robot overlords.  We are hopeful they will overlook the “kick me” sign that makes its way on SENDLEBOT as it cruises the office.  We also promise to put in a good word for our customers as well, just another intangible benefit of working with Bluefish.

If you’re interested in navigating E.R.I.C. S.E.N.D.L.E.B.O.T around the office give us a call.

These days, there is no shortage of daily tasks that Administrators must manage within their Mobile Telecom Program.  New orders, upgrades, feature changes, device reassignments, connectivity issues, hardware issues and approval processes keep every wireless administrator’s plate full.  Since you are constantly trying to pin down a moving target, it’s almost impossible to report and evaluate if your wireless program has the support structure it needs now and in the future. Until now – that is…

Bluefish introduced Activity and Call Reporting Dashboards for customers with real-time data that actively monitors their mobile telecom program’s support health.

This easy to read dashboard provides a high-level snapshot administrators need to understand what support issues their end-users are up against. Admins can even dive into more granular details for both program calls and activities, so they can get the level of visibility as the desire.

The Bluefish Development team is continually hard at work to allow our customers the ability to slice and dice all mobile telecom data into exactly the way you want to view it.
